Rotterdam Urban Lecture is a public lecture series on cities hosted by Erasmus University College

These lectures are accessible, interactive and informative. They are aimed at a broad and interdisciplinary audience of students, researchers, practitioners and the interested public. These events are free and registration is not required. They are part of a new urban studies program being developed at EUC.

Theme 2016: Urban Complexities

Cities are often celebrated today for being sites of creativity, economic growth, diversity and sustainability. But this rather simple message ignores the complex nature both within cities and between cities. Instead of just celebrating the city, this lecture series critically examines key issues in contemporary urbanism to better understand both the challenges and opportunities facing different cities around the world.
